New project: building group “HeiNa” in Hamburg

With the HeiNa (= Heitere Nachbarschaft, meaning Cheerful Neighbourhood) building group, we’re already working on our second project in Hamburg’s new Wilhelmsburger Rathausviertel neighbourhood. Just like the “Greenville” building community, the plot was awarded through a concept competition.

The design focuses on combining sustainable construction, neighbourly coexistence and an open house community. There is a particular focus on bicycles as a central element of everyday mobility. An in-house bicycle sharing service with cargo bikes and a bicycle repair shop are planned, which can also be used by the neighbourhood.

The hybrid timber construction with 16 residential units follows a low-tech approach and focuses on the consistent use of sustainable building materials.
