Contruction of new serial and modular clubhouses in timber construction

The German Football Association (DFB) supports the construction of serial and modular clubhouses using timber construction methods. With a catalog of various designs, it offers its amateur clubs sustainable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for the construction of new, accessible clubhouses. As part of a Europe-wide bidding process, Scharabi Architekten, in collaboration with MAX Holzbau GmbH, was selected to develop clubhouses in sizes ranging from XS to L.

All size variations are based on a single-story structure with a shed roof that overhangs on all sides. It combines compact functional modules for food service, changing rooms, and utilities, which can be flexibly arranged and expanded at a later date if needed. The surrounding, covered platform provides direct access to the various functions from the outdoor area while also creating attractive gathering spaces with an integrated grandstand.

The building is characterized by sustainable, durable, and low-maintenance materials. Green-gray-stained and natural-colored wooden elements define the overall look and can be complemented by individual color accents in the respective club colors.

This serial and modular timber construction system combines industrial prefabrication with flexible design. Prefabricated wall, floor, and roof elements ensure consistently high quality and quick on-site assembly.

Heat pumps, green roofs, and solar panels contribute to energy-efficient operation and low operating and maintenance costs. A ready-to-use version and a more cost-effective expansion option are available to suit different budgets.

This results in sustainable and cost-effective buildings that can be adapted to clubs of various sizes and with different requirements.
