Multifunctional building OneBuilding Baruth

The “OneBuilding Baruth” multifunctional building is being constructed in the northern area of the town centre of Baruth/Mark in Brandenburg.

The flexibly usable area on the ground floor is designed as a regional market with “Echt Fläming products” for the sale of regional food, art and handicraft goods and as a small café/bistro for lingering and tasting the regional products.
The upper floors contain two- to three-room flats.
The building appears in its basic form like a typical Baruth residential house and at the same time speaks an independent and modern architectural language. The gable with the main facade is oriented towards the main street and faces Baruth Castle opposite. In this way, the new building forms a new urban ensemble together with the castle.

In the multifunctional building, wood is used as a building material to the maximum extent possible: load-bearing walls are built in timber panel construction and ceilings are made of solid prefabricated cross-laminated timber elements.
On the inside, the wooden surfaces of the supporting structure remain largely visible and are not clad. This creates a natural, comfortable and healthy atmosphere in the interior. With its large openings and wooden facade, the building gives the impression of being an open and inviting house.
Through the greatest possible use of wood as a building material, a sustainable and future-oriented building is created that optimally represents Baruth as a location for wood.
